Britt Crosby, Director of Retail Services

Hey, I'm Britt! I was born in Fayetteville NC and spent my childhood growing up in the Rock Hill/Fort Mill area. I was adopted at age 10, and we moved to Anchorage, Alaska – I remember thinking “OF ALL PLACES?!”. Now I couldn’t imagine a better place to have spent the rest of my childhood. AK will always hold a special place in my heart, but when I was in my early 20’s I wanted to experience more.

I moved to Greensboro, NC in 2017. After being with Old Navy for 9 years I made the decision to leave in 2022. Through that experience I learned that sometimes money isn’t more important than mental health. A wise woman at the time (my momma) said “maybe you’re just supposed to be a dog mom right now, and that’s okay”. So, I spent some much needed time with my family.

A few months later I was recruited by Aerie; I hadn’t necessarily wanted to be in retail again. I was wanting more, but I was lost on what that might look like. Almost a year into working for Aerie I was approached by a regular customer. I had seen her a few times in our store, she always kind of kept to herself. When she approached, she said “My name is Kris, and this is going to sound crazy but…”.   

When I walked into Lucky Dog I did not know what exactly I was walking into. Meeting the team felt exciting and like I was in the right place at the right time. This company is everything that I have ever wanted in a workplace to grow. This opportunity has given me a career, not a job.

Being a part of this team gives me the strength to be a better person for myself. I am lucky to be a part of Lucky Dog.  

 

I have had pets in the past, and I was ready to take on the responsibility of being a dog mom again. In 2019 I found Lou on Facebook Marketplace. She was 8 months old and a whopping $25!

If I were to take a wild guess; she is Pit and Border Collie, and acts like it! She has a lot of character, but she is the sweetest most drooly baby around. She loves playing in the yard, especially in the Summer when she gets a new pool! Her birthday is November 25^th, making her a Sagittarius. Her fave birthday treat is a Pup Cake from Maxie B’s, it pairs nicely with a Pup Cup from Starbucks.

Lou spends her days lounging around the house (aka the Nap Factory). At some point she must put some work in at the local Frito Factory, I’m just not sure what those hours are; it’s not like she helps to pay the bills. Regardless, I wouldn’t have it any other way, that’s my baby!
